Economic Development

Over the past several years the Town has experienced an unprecedented increase in commercial and residential growth. Not withstanding the increased interest in the community, there remains a need for stabilizing the impact on the existing tax rate. The enticement of additional commercial and industrial development is recognized as an ongoing need of the community. Many accomplishments have been realized, but additional work remains to mold the Town into the ideal community to place your trust and investment dollars.

     Several years ago the Chamber of Commerce created the Economic Development Committee for the purpose of assisting in the Town’s efforts toward facilitating business retention, expansion and creation. The EDC is comprised of volunteers who serve as a primary resource for any developmental venture interested in the community. Information about the community and its resources are provided by the EDC thus allowing for informed business decisions. The role of the EDC is to promote the Town, follow development leads, provide advocacy to potential projects, and facilitate meetings with key local and regional offi cials. Hammonton has the best of all assets due to its location, people, traditions, culture, educational opportunities and quality of life. More and more people and businesses are coming to this realization. The EDC will continue to provide its assistance and resources to promote the Town to achieve the high expectations of its citizens.
