Hammonton Early Childhood Education Center
The Hammonton Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) exemplifies the best in primary education. Devoted to the philosophy that all children can excel, the administration, faculty and paraprofessionals on staff are highly qualified and dedicated to the development of the “whole child”. With a curriculum designed to develop the strengths of the very young learner, our school offers instructional methodologies that target multiple learning styles. A visit to our school is inspiring. Two preschool disabled halfday classes for three- to five-year-olds, six half-day pre-kindergarten classes, eight full-day kindergartens, a transitional first grade, seven first grade classes, special education classes and a full-time ESL program comprise the overall snapshot of the ECEC. Details of the picture reveal at least four Internet linked computers in every classroom, emphasizing technology as a tool in the delivery of curriculum. Our lessons are student-centered, providing each child with opportunities for academic growth and an environment that fosters positive behavior choices, the development of fi ne character and a celebration of differences. We continue to review, refi ne and refresh curriculum to address the needs of our learners and the demands of our society. Our learners will be prepared to meet the challenges of the real-world as they gain the important foundations necessary to support them in the upper grades. Together with families and the community, we strive to instill a love of learning that will prevail throughout our students’ lives.
