Mercury Nears 100 Degrees People Still Enjoy a day in the Blueberry Capital of the World

Congratulations to our T-shirt winners for the 24th Annual Red, White & Blueberry Festival: Lois F. of Waretown, NJ (on-site) Jim S. of Staten Island, NY (website contest)
According to Festival Chairman, John Runfolo, "Despite the oppressive temperatures, turnout was excellent. It is a testament to the drawing power of the festival that people still made the trip on such a blistering summer day. Unprecedented cooperation from Mayor DiDonato, town council, Chief Ingemi and the Hammonton police, Atlantic County Sheriff Frank Balles’ department and the Hammonton Rescue Squad made the day run smoother than ever. The Board of Education facilitated all logistical matters, while our highway department supplied needed support. The High School grounds are meticulously prepared and the All Sports Booster Club assists us in many ways. The Cruisin’ Classics, MainStreet, local civic groups and vendors add more flavor to the day. The farmers, our sponsors, our dedicated core of volunteers, including Honor Society members from both local high schools - what I can say – we could not do it without them…and my committee is the best. It’s hard to thank everyone in short, but I do that personally. Suffice it say that the Chamber is proud to run the quintessential family festival. It is truly a community event and Hammonton responds in a spectacular fashion.”
See you next year for the SILVER ANNIVERSARY! The 25th Annual Red, White & Blueberry Festival June 26, 2011

Wine & Beer Expo - Best Ever!

Almost 200 turned out for an enjoyable and “tasteful” evening as the Chamber held its 2nd Annual International Wine & Beer Expo at Tomasello’s Winery on April 28th. The record crowd enjoyed a great array of wines, beer and ale, plus cheeses and chocolate selections, as well as pasta and carving stations. MainStreet Hammonton conducted the always-popular silent auction during the evening.
